The tower is an Urban rising from the ground, respecting and enhancing the sizes of the building envelop.The Almere Highnote and Stadspark Dordrecht XXL projects were both honoured with the “Outstanding Award”. The international jury selected the projects from more than 300 entries worldwide. In the summer of 2025, Flux presented the results of the Utrecht 2100 scenario study to the Provincial Council Committee. Four integrated future scenarios for the year 2100 were developed and compared with the existing Environmental Vision. Using maps, systemic cross-sections and inspiring atmospheric images, spatial opportunities and bottlenecks were identified, highly and low-dynamic areas were identified, and no-regret measures for water and soil management were formulated. The application of game thinking to bring about behavior change by using game-elements and structures to make pre-existing tasks more fun and stimulating. The curved corners and rounded ‘kinks’ ensure a completely consistent façade language. The top floor has extra height, allowing the roof structure to be loftier than usual and providing added allure. In addition to the primary school, the 2,600 m² building will feature a gymnasium, child care and preschool education. The 200 students will move into their new school at the end of 2012.The building’s horizontal, glazed profile creates an elegant, light school. Cantilevers serve to block direct sunlight from entering the building. We cover completed Utrecht buildings, new building designs and architecture competitions across Utrecht and the Netherlands. We are here to help you create the best games and experiences possible.Furthermore, Molenaar is a member of the editorial board of the American journal HERD (Healing Environment Research and Development. The bicycle parking facility of WTC Utrecht is linked to that of Utrecht Central Station. Because the façade is modular, composed of an aluminum frame with black aluminum panels and stainless-steel strips, the construction time of the new WTC was significantly shortened – a hugely important factor in such a busy, central location. Moreover, due to more limited tolerances or error possibilities, a fantastically tight result has been achieved.This fritted glazing protects the library’s heavily rotated books, on open shelves, so their shelf life longevity is substantially increased. Thanks to the fact that the participants had very different profiles -from high school students to engineers and architects- it was possible to create a heterogeneous group, with very diverse nationalities and backgrounds, which greatly enriched the experience. Having the support and guidance of architects such as Robert Adam and Michael Lykoudis was also an invaluable opportunity. I was fortunate to be selected to be a part of an incredible project that was designed to revive the creation of traditional Dutch architecture in the midst of a sea of modernist ‘ego-structures’ of contemporary architecture. Its rounded form allows for open access from all sides and on the inside, the interconnected design will include varied facilities and services that promote exploration and chance encounters between people and activities.These range from sports and cultural event spaces and start-up offices to pop-up cafes and a rooftop restaurant with views across Utrecht’s skyline. Mevrouw Meijer now have a number of school projects under way and recently completed, including De Zevensprong, a primary school and daycare centre in the Eindhoven suburb of Best, by the Amsterdam practice Buro Kettinghuls. Here, the old school building is augmented by a sturdy timber structure that creates calm interiors and a long balcony for watching events in an adjacent sports field.
